Walid is the Head of Sales and Business Development at KOKO Climate, the carbon division of KOKO Networks

KOKO is a climate technology company that is driving the energy transition and forest protection across East Africa by supplying over 1.3 million households across 14 Kenyan cities, with ultra-clean bioethanol cooking fuel to replace charcoal; the primary driver of deforestation. 

KOKO was recognized as the world’s leading emerging markets climate technology solution in the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards 2021, and is backed by a range of climate technology investors including the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund. 

Prior to joining KOKO, Walid was an investor in the business. He began his career in Investment Banking at Credit Agricole CIB before moving to Coalition Development (acquired by S&P Global) where he led the EMEA & APAC Client Relationships and Business Development business. 

Walid holds a Civil and Environmental Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut and a double Masters in Management and Finance from London Business School.
