Grégoire Baribeau is a Policy Advisor on Decarbonization in the Environmental Policy Branch at Transport Canada. In this capacity, he is Canada’s lead negotiator on greenhouse gas ‘mid-term measures’ at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and a Chairperson of the Technical Advisory Body to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO TAB). From 2016 to 2022, Greg was a member of Canada’s delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where he negotiated the implementation ‘rulebook’ for Article 4 (mitigation/NDCs) and Article 6 (international carbon markets/ITMOs) of the Paris Agreement. Originally from London, Ontario, he holds a Master of Arts in Global Governance from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University.
