Ms. Federica Bietta is the Managing Director of the Coalition for Rainforest Nations. Ms. Bietta is an internationally recognized expert in the development of international agreements related to climate change and specific mechanisms that include emissions resulting from tropical deforestation. Today, she is the managing director for and still leads policy support work with all countries.
Up until 2017, Ms. Bietta was the lead REDD+ technical negotiator for CfRN constituency and was instrumental in designing and executing REDD+ negotiating strategy under the UNFCCC, until it was captured in Article 5 of the Paris Agreement. Previously, Ms. Bietta was actively involved in the design and implementation of both the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility of the World Bank and the UN-REDD programme.
