Mr. Kentaro Takahashi is Deputy Director, Climate and Energy Area, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) based in Japan. He joined IGES in 2009 and engaged on several projects such as capacity building programme on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in Asia Pacific Region, Article 6 implementation and MRV programme under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) . He also has been supporting the government of Japan at UNFCCC negotiation on Article 6 as one of the delegation members. Prior to joining IGES, he worked on the CDM consulting service as a consultant. He is a member of the Climate Action Data Trust Council which was established by the World Bank, Singapore government and International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in Dec 2022. He is also a member of Expert Advisory Group, Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI).
