Hanh Dang has been engaged in the field of climate change since early 2000, with extensive professional experience in Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Germany. From 2021 to 2026, she served as a Research Fellow at the International Climate Change Research Group of the Hamburg Institute of Economics.
In 2006, Hanh co-founded the Energy and Environment Consultancy JSC (VNEEC) in Vietnam, which has since become a leading player in the country’s carbon market. Under her leadership, VNEEC has developed and registered more than 175 CDM, VCS, and GS projects, generating over 17 million carbon credits.
Hanh brings deep expertise in carbon market design, climate finance, and greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. She has led numerous advisory assignments on GHG reduction, carbon pricing and market policies, renewable energy, energy efficiency strategies, and corporate low-carbon transitions in Vietnam.
Most recently, she is leading consortia of national and international experts in providing technical advisory in shaping the legal and institutional framework for the country’s carbon market supporting Vietnam’s transition to Net Zero. On-going activities includes, providing technical supports for establishing the national carbon trading exchange (CTX) under the Ministry of Finance for piloting the domestic carbon market by 2025, and preparations for the emissions trading system (ETS) and Article 6 in Viet Nam coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
