Karl Smyth is the Director for External Affairs & Strategic Policy at enfinium, the second largest energy from waste business in the UK. In his role, Karl works across a range of strategic initiatives to support the delivery of enfinium’s ambition to become a decarbonisation business powered by waste. Karl also leads on enfinium’s carbon removals strategy, bringing to market highly durable carbon removals by retrofitting enfinium’s facilities with carbon capture and storage technology.
Karl has two decades of experience working in energy, infrastructure and utilities, including bioenergy, onshore and offshore wind and nuclear power. He has a MBA from Warwick Business School and a MSc in public policy from University College London.
