David Costa is the Sales Director at Verifit, supporting the expansion of carbon services across various regions. He has over 20 years of experience in carbon markets, validation and verification audits, sustainability, climate policy, carbon credit and offset origination, renewable energy, biogas, nature-based solutions (NBS), carbon removals, GHG Protocol and carbon footprinting, carbon portfolio management, and decarbonization strategies, with a strong focus on Latin America. Throughout his career, he has worked with companies such as ENGIE, DNV, and Louis Dreyfus Company, contributing to carbon project development, climate policy initiatives, and low-carbon strategies. David has also been actively involved in working groups and discussions on carbon market policies and pricing instruments in Brazil. He is a Chemical Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Energy from the University of São Paulo, with a focus on renewables and the environment.
