Eman Thani AlSuwaidi served as carbon-market UAE Lead Negotiator under the UNFCCC under the COP28 presidency. Leading the negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and CDM under the Kyoto Protocol, with a focus on market integrity, authorization, corresponding adjustments, and international cooperation.
She has represented the UAE in COP27, COP28, and COP29, heading the UAE negotiation team for the carbon-market cluster, including Article 6.2, Article 6.4, and the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) transition. Aiming to support the UAE’s strategic positioning in international carbon markets and the implementation of high-integrity market mechanisms.
