Subhadra Jena is a Climate Finance Manager at Varaha, where she works within the commercial team to scale high-integrity carbon markets across both nature-based and technology-based carbon removal solutions. Her role focuses on engaging with credit buyers and project investors, and strengthening the visibility and credibility of Varaha’s carbon credits in global markets.
Prior to Varaha, Subhadra spent two years at Deutsche Bank in the Global Markets division, where she worked on sustainability-linked structured financing. She was also part of the bank’s Global ESG Competence Centre, contributing to the development of sustainable finance solutions for institutional clients.
She holds a master’s degree in Applied Geology from a leading engineering institute in India, IIT Kharagpur, bringing a technical grounding in earth systems to her work at the intersection of climate science, carbon markets, and global finance.
