Nikunj works in the Carbon Portfolio Management team at ENOWA, NEOM’s Energy and Water Company. He has worked in the Carbon market for 17 years, and has experience in:
• International Compliance and Voluntary Carbon Market Mechanisms, focusing on incentivising climate change mitigation actions, measuring and verify its results through international MRV mechanisms such as CDM, JI, VCS, GS, ISO
• Carbon strategy and policy formulation and feasibility studies on flexibility mechanisms and/or market-based approaches to financing climate change mitigation activities
• Renewable Energy, Community Scale and standalone Greenhouse Gas emission reduction projects, portfolio and project cycle management, and project and programme assessment, due diligence and follow-up
• Research on governments, corporates and community partnership and engagement on Climate change mitigation and adaptation.

His professional goal is to continuously develop and deepen my expertise and skills in climate change mitigation sector, especially in existing and emerging flexibility instruments and market mechanisms, so as to contribute to the development and deployment of efficient and functional tools to scale up climate change mitigation action in developing and least developed countries.

Expertise and interests: International climate policy; results-based climate finance; carbon markets; design and use of international flexibility mechanisms, including CDM and JI; baselines and quantification of mitigation outcomes; CDM/JI carbon fund, portfolio and project cycle management.
