CASAER-DIEZ, Karolien

Karolien serves as the Global Senior Director for Compliance Markets at South Pole, where she spearheads the company’s strategy on Article 6, CORSIA, and J-REDD. She leads South Pole’s efforts in market research, business development, and government affairs.
With 20 years of experience in climate finance, development finance, and carbon markets, Karolien has built a career at the intersection of policy, investment, and sustainability. Prior to joining South Pole, she held positions with the Belgian Foreign Ministry, the United Nations, and the Global Green Growth Institute, living and working across Africa and Asia. Her work has focused on advising governments on climate finance, aid management and green investment, directing programmes across a range of sectors including clean energy, sustainable transport, waste, supply chains, and more.
