Baran Doda is an economist and the Head of Programme Carbon Markets and Pricing at adelphi, a leading think tank and public policy consultancy on climate, environment and development. He specializes in the design and implementation of carbon pricing instruments, linking emissions trading systems and market-based decarbonization policies.
He has led and contributed to projects on these topics for various international organizations, governments and private sector clients, including the World Bank, United Nations, European Commission and German Federal Government.
He also supports the work of the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), a network of more than thirty jurisdictions that share experience and know-how on compliance markets. Before joining adelphi, he was a Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and has published his research in top academic journals. He also worked as an economist at the International Department of the Bank of Canada.
Baran holds a PhD and an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto, Canada.
