He has been leading work in the climate and forestry sector in Southeast Asia since 2006. He specializes in the design and development of market-driven solutions to conservation, ecosystem restoration and community forestry initiatives. Over the last 18 years, he has been dedicated to the high quality design of voluntary market projects on the ground and seeking integration into jurisdictional and national systems in over a dozen countries across Southeast Asia, Central Africa and South America. In addition to his project-based work, he has advised national government and sub-national programs across the region, including the Indonesian REDD+ Agency, the Vietnam National REDD+ Program, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment and the National REDD+ System of Laos.

As the International REDD+ Technical Advisor to the Government of Laos for the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) he led the technical development of project-level and Jurisdictional REDD+ approaches for the Climate Protection through Avoided Deforestation (CliPAD) project.
