Syeda Hadika Jamshaid is a Carbon Market Advisor from Pakistan. She possesses a dynamic and multidisciplinary background in economics, development, and climate change. She has been engaged in steering the work of establishing the carbon markets in Pakistan for the past 7 years. During this time she has been engaged in work on carbon markets and Article 6 which revolves around research, project design, stakeholder engagement, policy formulation, and implementation. She has been a core team member of the Government of Pakistan’s official delegation to COPs and has been supporting the negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. She is also the principal author of Updated NDCS 2021 and mobilized international finance for operationalizing Article 6 in Pakistan including winning the support from World Bank through their Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) window and International Climate Initiative of Germany (IKI) funded Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation” or SPAR6C Program.
Currently, she is working on developing a carbon market strategy for Pakistan and developing the capacity of the relevant stakeholders in Pakistan to be key players in establishing the market.
