Martin Lawless is a member of Munich Re’s Green Solutions team and Group Head of its Carbon Markets and Environmental Commodities underwriting business which develops and provides insurance products and capacity for the carbon market. Munich Re is a leading global provider of insurance, reinsurance, and insurance-related risk solutions. With a career history in banking and finance, Martin has been actively involved in the carbon markets for 20+ years, in project finance through to market trading. Among others, he has worked for Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, and a major energy markets hedge fund. He has additional experience in weather risk analysis and management. Martin has a Ph.D. in physics.
