Dr. G.Asli Sezer Özçelik is a distinguished graduate of the METU Department of Geological Engineering, ranking first in her class, with a minor in Biology. She holds a 1st MSc. Degree focusing on the utilization of Clays as landfill liners and a second M.Sc. degree in environmental management from the prestigious Med-Campus Program.
In 2005, she was honored with the Jean Monnet scholarship, gaining acceptance into the esteemed M.Sc. Program on Environmental Change and Management at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute. Subsequently, in 2006, she successfully completed both her PhD and her 3rd M.Sc. at Oxford University.
Returning to Turkey, Dr. Ozcelik served as a senior engineer in the government sector before assuming the role of Country Manager at JPMorgan- Climate Care. Following the closure of Climate Care’s Turkey office in 2011, she transitioned to a full-time position at Ekobil, a purpose-driven company focused on the protection of heritage breed genetic resources, which she co-founded with her partner in 1999.
Since September 2007, Dr. Özcelik has dedicated her expertise to Ekobil, specializing in the development and marketing of Carbon Assets for voluntary markets under Gold Standard, Verra, and Cercarbono.
