Oğuz has been active in the carbon pricing space since 2016 and involved in several c-suite carbon consulting bodies under key responsibilities and professional interactions with international bodies such as UNDP, GIZ and World Bank back then. He has contributed to the development of over 200 carbon offset projects across multiple standards, including Gold Standard, Verra, PACM, CDM, GCC, ICR, and Cercarbono. These projects span diverse technologies such as landfill gas-to-energy, industrial biogas, safe water access, and renewable energy, with his roles ranging from Project Specialist to Director. He is passionate about advancing global climate action and cooperation through carbon market utilization, and has facilitated several side events and workshops on carbon markets at international conferences and platforms, such as COP 24, COP 25, COP 26, COP 27, COP28, COP29, Aviation Carbon, EIF Carbon Markets Congress and East Africa Carbon Markets Forum, Argus Carbon Europe Conference. He has prepared a policy paper titled Macroeconomic Approach to Climate Crisis (2019) for the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Turkey and “User Guide for Turkish Aviation MRV Data Management System (2021)” for the Directorate General for Civil Aviation. He is the president of Global Balance Association and a board member of Carbon Market Association Türkiye (CMAT) and an alumnus of Distinguished Professional Fellow on Climate Change as part of Fulbright’s Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship by the Department of State. He is currently working as the CEO of Climate Balanced which is a carbon project developing and trading company whose business footprint in Europe, Turkey, Middle East and East Africa.
