Veronika Elgart is Head of Bilateral Climate Agreements at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment. She leads on Switzerland’s bilateral Article 6 schemes and international instruments for carbon capture and storage and carbon dioxide removal cooperation. In this role, Veronika Elgart has established to date eight bilateral Article 6 Agreements, with further such Agreements to follow by the end of the year. These Agreements are the worldwide first operational frameworks for the international transfer of mitigation outcomes at the standard of the Paris Agreement. Before her engagement in international carbon markets, Veronika was Deputy Head of the Swiss delegation towards the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Veronika Elgart is a Swiss-Czech national, graduated in Geography at the University of Berne and has two children.
