Raphael Wood is the Co-Managing Director of Silva Capital, an Australian fund manager investing in high-integrity environmental planting projects that integrate carbon sequestration, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture to deliver full natural-capital returns.
The Silva Carbon Origination Fund, backed by cornerstone investors including BHP, Rio Tinto and Qantas, has financed some of the country’s largest land-restoration and natural capital projects. Silva’s flagship Cooplacurripa Project became the first project registered under Australia’s Nature Repair Market, establishing a global benchmark for how carbon and biodiversity outcomes can coexist at commercial scale alongside food and fibre production.
With more than 15 years in Australia’s carbon markets, Raphael combines deep policy insight with on-ground delivery experience. He serves on the Board of the Carbon Market Institute and as a Director of Covalent Land Australia, providing practical leadership across project development, environmental finance and market design.
