Mun Ching serves dual roles as the Chief Sustainability Officer of AirAsia and the Executive Director of AirAsia Foundation. She is responsible for formulating the group’s environmental strategy to achieve net zero and ensuring that AirAsia continues its efforts to boost diversity across the board. Through AirAsia Foundation, she developed an extensive programme to support social entrepreneurship growth in Asean and raised over US$4million to fund post-disaster resilience projects.
Mun Ching started her career in aviation as AirAsia’s route planner before becoming Head of Strategic Planning, overseeing the airline’s fleet planning, route development and scheduling portfolios. She helped grow the airline’s network into one that spanned the region, playing a part in the liberalisation of Malaysia’s domestic aviation sector and in AirAsia’s early expansion into China. In previous roles, Mun Ching was also a journalist and special officer to the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry.
